Introduction: Salvador Carnival in the northern Brazilian state of Bahia, can be a more exuberant display and offers visitors a more interactive and participatory experience than the carnival in Rio de Janeiro. Salvador Carnival has a much more Afro-Caribbean feel and celebrates Carnival in a week-long party which changes in mood from one part of the city to another. The parades are participatory, where visitors can dance with the trucks and freelance bars. During the Carnival period Salvador is frequently referred to as a city of ten thousand parties!!
