Introduction:
The Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal draws travellers back time and time again. It is a fascinating country – a land steeped in history, with colourful cultures and people, and stunning mountain scenery.
The tour starts and ends in Kathmandu, and explores the three mini kingdoms of the Kathmandu Valley – Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur. The areas are dotted with shrines and temples, with narrow alleys and courtyards, and ancient medieval buildings. Nagarkot offers views of much of the Himalayas, from the Dhaulagiri range in the west, past Mt Everest, to the Kanchenjunga range in the east. Pokhara with its beautiful lakeside setting, is also gateway to the Annapurnas, with the beautiful Machhapuchhare (Fishtail) Mountain dominating the skyline. In Pokhara, we take a boat on Phewa Lake, and explore the World Peace Stupa, David Falls, and Shiva Cave.
