Kumuka is about giving you local insights as well as
adventure, so, where we think you will get more out of your holiday
by using different means of transport, that is what we do. The use of
a variety of private transport is an integral part of our Asia tours
and enhances the experience!

Minibus
We use minibuses rather than local buses. These small light vehicles
are more manoeuvrable and flexible enabling us to take you to more remote,
less visited areas. The minibuses are usually air-conditioned unless
we are travelling in cooler areas or at altitude.
Rickshaws & Tuk-tuks
Try a rickshaw, tuk-tuk or songthaew for that extra local thrill. The
tuk-tuk is a three-wheeled open sided vehicle that can carry between
3 and 6 people. Rickshaws and tuk-tuks are used as part of the tour
but are also the perfect way to get about during free time. You can
arrange the price with the driver, and they are an inexpensive and generally
faster alternative to taxis. Songthaews operate as communal taxis and
are used in Chiang Mai to get from the train station to the hotel.
Plane & Overnight Train
On internal flights we use domestic airlines to reduce travelling time,
giving us extra time to maximise sightseeing. We use overnight sleeper
trains throughout South East Asia, China and India. The trains generally
have air-conditioned carriages and we book tourist-class sleepers.
